Merry Christmas 2005!!

Another fast year – And we’re heading into 2006

Fortunate for you – I won’t bore you with politics

March we vacationed inHawaii– With brother Neal and his wife

We played a lot of Gin Rummy – And enjoyed the good life!!

Now we’re into healthy eating – Trying to keep that weight off

We still go to the club to work out – Fortunately, neither of us play golf

I’m President of the Fridley Lions – Which is fun and fullfilling

I enjoy the community service – And the joy that it brings!!

We’ve had much excitement – In September, power loss of 4 days

It’s amazing life’s turns – Things happen in mysterious ways

We designed and wrapped flowers – By candle light in the store

We juryrigged the phones – Although the volume was poor!!

At least we went down fighting – Till the power came  back on

We all gave a yell – When the blackout was gone

Now our appreciation has grown – For the little things in life

Little things are appreciated more – Since our 4 days of strife!!

In October we went north – To Breezy Point and the fall leaves

It was a fun get a way – And a welcome reprieve

We stopped to see Paul Anka – At the Casino going home

Paul has so little hair – He hardly needs a comb!!

It was a wonderful show – With all these old teeny boppers

Honey and I were the exception – Not looking like senior citizen shoppers

We promised ourselves – After this wonderful week

We’re getting away more often – It was wonderful and unique!!

We hope you and yours – Have had a wonderful year

Count all your many blessings – Look around they are near

So Merry Merry Christmas – And may next year be great

Remember there are no accidents – It’s the fickle finger of fate!!

Love

Marcia & Bud

From “Singles” at McLean Presbyterian – Close friends we became

With you moving away – My life won’t be the same

Life at the “Big White House” – With our memories galore

Memorial, the 4th and Labor Day – How will our singles group endure!!

As you depart for Charleston– I really want you to know

How much I’ve cherished your friendship – Since we met 10 years ago

Being brothers in Christ – And workout buddies as well

You’ll be missed at Gold’s Gym – But in our hearts you will dwell!!

Good bye Friend!!

A Toast To Our Queen!!

For 75 wonderful years – Our Carnival has thrived

And today marks the start  – Yes, it’s truly arrived

I want to toast the new Queen – A fine choice indeed

And thank the “X” committee – Without you we’d not succeed!!

To the Queen and her family – I truly raise my glass

For hosting this event – And dinner with so much class

We’re looking forward – With anticipation and glee

To 2006 our upcoming year – And the fun Carnival events we’ll see!!

As is our custom – An honored custom we each embrace

We pay homage to our Queen – Standing here filled with grace

So please all join with me – Lift your glasses high

A toast to our wonderful Queen – On her we can all rely!!

Bon Voyage Desiree!!

I hate to see you leaving – Although I know it’s a good move

We knew you’d make the big time – And the money would improve

We have a lot of history – Of which I’d like to share

Of course I’ll do some editing – Too much truth might tend to scare!!

We met from mutual friends – Hitting it off right from the start

We had many nights in Vegas – But I’ll only tell a small part

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas – The memories fill me with glee

Besides I have to live here – So you can depend on me!!

We did do a lot of dancing – Literally dancing the night away

You got us into private parties – How you did it I won’t say

We had so much fun water skiing – You showed us how it should be done

Desiree, you are the greatest – You know how to live and have fun!!

There was also the skiing in Vail – Once again you took the lead

You’d make a great party planner – As you travel at warp speed

I can’t forget your dog – Chester the Molester as he’s known

You treat him like a king – I’m surprised he has no throne!!

You really do cut him slack – Here’s a story that must be told

When he peed upon your bed – You explained so sincerely and bold

It really couldn’t have been Chester – You explained with a long sigh

For if you’ve ever seen him – You know he can’t jump that high!!

You love your Pilates Classes – And the beautiful Lexus you drive

There is never enough dancing – Upon which you truly thrive

You are beautiful, crazy and fun – While remaining nice and sincere

You’re determined, intelligent and witty – My good friend I hold so dear!!

You are even into Rap Music – Loving chocolate and fine wine

You have no time for “whiners” – But you love a fine restaurant to dine

You passed your CFP last year – And now you’re on the move

Northern Trust Bank is lucky – Their bottom line you’ll improve!!

Desiree, you will truly be missed – And I thank you for being such a good friend

A confidant and da partner – Our love with you we send

And just because you’re moving – Doesn’t mean that we can’t meet

Out in the desert in Las Vegas– And dance while remaining totally discreet!!

Love

Kim

In Memory of My Friend Ricky Boy Enga!!

When A Loved One is Lost!

When a loved one is lost – It’s the worst kind of pain

Many emotions are felt – As they go marching through our brain

Why did it have to happen – De, this question is truly the key

It’s difficult for us to understand – And even harder for us to see!!

But at times like this – It’s important that we all understand

There are no accidents in this life – And God has us by the hand

De, when your pain is at it’s greatest – God will send a soothing word

Or maybe a little story – That someone might have heard!!

For truly the greatest gift – That anyone can ever give

Is to remember our Ricky Boy – But also the loved ones that live

De, I know you carry a burden – Although sometimes it might not show

You too need to be remembered – And that act of kindness I’d like to bestow!!

Remember the good times – When both of you had fun

I recall when you started dating – And both your hearts were one

Or how Ricky hounded you – He so wanted to be a dad

And when you finally relented – Remember Ricky Boy was so glad!!

He was proud of his little Jen – And realistic as well

He knew he broke your heart – The guilt was putting him through hell

He wanted to be forgiven – By himself but more so by you

That probably has happened – By what you’ve both been through!!

God knows we make mistakes – Dumb stuff we can’t take back

The punishment is our suffering – As we try to get on track

And yes for every action – There is a reaction as well

That’s usually when we realize – That we have just entered Hell!!

Some get a chance at redemption – Others die without that success

In the end we’re all forgiven – As we feel God’s soft caress

The hard journey of life – Is experiencing feelings of bad and good

Trying to be better people – Trying to do what we should!!

As we each go on our journey – There are no guarantees

Of the trials and tribulations – Or how much pain there’ll be

As I write you this note – De, I want you to know that I care

And when I speak to God – You are included in my prayer!!

To Our Dad, Brother, Husband,Uncle, Cousin, Nephew and friend Ray!!

We love and miss you – But your memories will always remain

We smile as we recall – With fondness through all the pain

Your brother David remembers – That gardening was one of your loves

Or the frogging you did with Ben – You’re not forgotten though up above!!

Angel wants you to punish him – When he enters a casino again

Domi wants you to know – He misses you and feels the pain

Wilfred enjoyed fishing with you – As he recalls with a smile

And when you moved to Vegas – You were separated by so many miles!!

Remy liked to visit in Vegas – You always had plenty to do

As youngsters, Ben and Angel got locked in the Banjo – But so did Remy and you

Cilla remembers the GoldenCape – Where the food was oh so good

You treated them to dinner – You always did as much as you could!!

Lolita remembers the ironing – Of your Kauai Surf uniforms each week

Always on a Sunday – And how good you looked with your physique

Josie remembers your fishing – At Niumalu where you set your nets

You would drop off your catches – And on this she could always bet!!

You would save all the Aholehole – For that was Josie’s favorite fish

To have these moments with you again – Would be everyone’s only wish

You loved fishing, bowling and baseball – Gardening and gambling too

You enjoyed keeping busy – But helping others you loved to do!!

Nancysays you look so peaceful – There’s a reason that is so

Teresita knows you are in heaven – With Grandma Juliana and Grandpa Rufino

Melisa and Brenda miss you – As a father you were the best

Ashlee and Nicholas miss their grandpa – Having them you felt blest!!

Pete also misses you – As a step dad you were great

And you’re loving wife Cathy – You were each others perfect “Helpmate”

But each of us agree – Your time here with us was too short

And sharing are memories together – Brings each us some comfort!!

You were taken without warning – From us who loved you so

As each of us remembers – Each of us wants you to know

Our lives were so much better – Because of a man named Ray

Our Dad, Brother, Husband, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew and friend – We love and think of you each day!!

Hello From Princess Rio!!

I’m new on the scene – Of Winkler Real Estate

My name is Princess Rio – But please, let me elaborate

I was roaming the streets – When much to my surprise

I was snatched by the Ridgeback Club – Which was to their demise!!

I’m not just a pretty face – I also have energy galore

After getting tossed 3 times – From foster homes, there’s more

I ended up on StarvationMountain– With the best of my breed

Twenty, 150 pound Ridgebacks – But that many more they’d need!!

I chewed them up fast – Then the Winkler’s came along

They looked into my eyes – And knew my character was strong

Always ready for a challenge – With excitement for them

I’ve become their new Guard Dog – Quite a smart stratagem!!

I’d like to show houses – But Risk Management is my game

God help any Perp – For I’m a crazy, loyal dame

I look out for their property – And play with Zorro now and then

But I’m a little too rough – As you can see, I’m quite the specimen!!

So call Kathy or Mark – They’ll find the house you have in mind

They’ve got years in this business – The perfect home they will find

And maybe at the closing – Here’s something you could suggest

Why not bring along “The Princess” – My behavior will be at its best!!

Good Luck Matt, We’ll Miss You!!

You’re leaving for Vegas – Where you’ll probably have to work

One hell of a lot harder – But listen, and soon you will smirk

One thing you won’t have – Of which I’m sure you’re glad

Your pal Dennis isn’t coming – Just the memories you two have had!!

You are truly a success story – Rising from new employee to a star

With your own crew of salespeople – Who know how great you are

Boyd waits till the last minute – And Mike always holds something back

But you perform your magic – Because you have that magical knack!!

Fiona is your best friend – And you should thank God for that

Although you two have your moments – When you fight like a dog and cat

And now that we’re into truth – Remember that rumor that you were gay

Fiona started it in Dallas– It was funny, what else can I say!!

Yes, we know you’re straight – Being into reptiles the way you are

Besides you’ve had many girlfriends – And you once drove a PT Cruiser car

Avoiding hurricanes is not your forte – Leaving Tampa for Daytona was proof

You ended up in the middle of a hurricane – Which almost blew off your roof!!

But you truly are a good guy – Who was there when needed the most

And dodging Dennis’ interference – Might be your biggest boast

By the way he wasn’t invited – We wanted to send you off in style

And besides you might have acted – In a way to cause you to smile!!

We’ll miss you, we want you to know – We appreciate all you’ve done

Not only were you talented – But Matt, you were also fun

So good luck in Vegas – And remember all of us here

Your good friends here in Tampa – Are watching you leave with a tear!!

Good Luck Matt!

My Friend LeRoy Schrandt!!

Some people never experience – Or are even fortunate enough to know

A character and friend so truly special – He causes your heart to glow

But that was our LeRoy – Smiling to the very end

Always ready to tease – But always ready to help a friend!!

When he owned Sully’s Diner – His legend really began

He knew everybody by name – LeRoy was a very friendly man

“Hey, how’s it going” – Was the first words he would say

Running 90 miles per hour – From morning to the end of the day!!

In the “70’s” he moved downtown – Buying  the 7th   Street Gym

Developing a boxing program – In the basement where the lights were dim

And the characters just kept coming – Drawn like bears to honey

Sternberg, Daszkiewicz and Peterson – Gene Fesenmaier, a guy with a lot of money!!

We all met his children – Johnny, Mark and Jayne

LeRoy made sure they had fun – While the fighters continued to train

Johnny with the wonderful smile – Mark the genius to be

And Jayne the dancer – LeRoy was proud, we all could see!!

LeRoy had a million stories – Of all the characters he knew

Of his friend Buck from Frazee – He had more than just a few

We’d see them playing pool – And arguing about everything under the sun

But they truly cared for each other – When all was said and done!!

In August of 1976 – LeRoy started his third career

Selling for Tele-ad on the road – Making “cold calls” he had no fear

Working for Gene and Vaughn – While making new friends each day

He even knew the Marlborough Man – He sent us pictures from far away!!

When LeRoy married Sarah – He became much harder to find

He had that mysterious side – As I said, he was one of a kind

But they were happy together – You could see it in LeRoy’s eyes

Sarah took care of LeRoy – Right down to his last sigh!!

Today we honor our special friend – Who at some time made each of us laugh

LeRoy will live on with us all – With his own special epitaph

He never stopped laughing – Or having fun with a friend

He lived his life to the fullest – Right to the very end!!
