Happy Retirement Dad!!

“Have I told you the one about” – My dad Fig, and this no lie

After 43 interesting years of work – Where you ended up the head guy

Carrying two Journeymen cards – Something accomplished by very few

You kept Big Red running – You and your very able crew!!

You retired this past July – From Ford and the UAW as well

We thank you for your faithful service – For you were smart, hard working as hell

When it came to unity – No one believed more than you

For your UAW family – There wasn’t anything you wouldn’t do!!

But to Ford you owe a lot – And I’m sure you won’t disagree

Just a raw Tennesseefarm boy – Arriving in the big city

Met a guy named Pearson at Ford – Who took you home to meet his sis

Her cat who hated everyone liked you – A date followed and then a kiss!!

Together you had two children – My brother Randy and me

And of course the dog that owns your heart  – Jasmine your companion and buddy

You’re down to earth and caring – With a green thumb to make anything grow

Always ready to lend a helping hand – Be it a stranger or someone you know!!

The UAW is in your blood – And the rest of our family as well

We want to acknowledge your loyalty – And the way that you excel

We wish you happy retirement – And hope you and mom have fun

But knowing you’re a workaholic – You’ll always be on the run!!

Love

Renee

Happy Retirement Dad!!

LAPD is so much better than LASD – Your mantra for 36 years

You were dedicated and loyal – And you loved your career

Mom was a Deputy Sheriff – Retiring a short time ago

But in our house she rules – Not worrying about your male ego!!

You were a wonderful father – And we learned a lot from you

Ego, sarcasm & mouthing off – To name just a few

You love to intimidate – Especially if it’s a house guest

When it comes to watering your lawn – For that, you never rest!!

For all of your bluster – Out of you I can still get a rise

Explaining what you taught us – To most it’s no surprise

How to drink, party and intimidate – Then to charm and deny it all

Dad, do I see you blushing – Just like you, I like to appall!!

You live for the excitement of sports – Being the Raiders number one fan

Also in love with the Lakers – You’ve been a fanatic since my life began

It gets a little frustrating – When we bring home a date

And you quiz them about sports – The uninformed ones you actually hate!!

In case you don’t know it Dad – I’m over thirty years old

When you first meet a new date – Don’t you think it a little bold

To intimidate them with Jeopardy and Scrabble – Or a geography question or two

I know you’re not going to change – I could talk till I turned blue!!

We do have fun, don’t we – I love you from the bottom of my heart

You’ve been a great dad and role model – Besides, your pretty smart

So I hope you enjoy retirement – And collecting that pension you earned

As far as me getting married – Please, don’t get overly concerned!!

Happy Retirement Jed!!

To say you’ll be missed – Is an understatement indeed

Your career has been broad – As a gifted CPA, you are a rare breed

You spent 19 years with Ernst & Young – Joining Wolverine in 1994

You became a director in 1995 – Being willing to take on any chore!!

You have a wonderful attitude – So working for you I feel blessed

Those rare times you’re moody – Soon after, an apology is expressed

You love your game of golf – Or boating inTennessee

And the Aquarium in your office – Was therapeutic wouldn’t you agree!!

You have a son at Auburn– Who will be graduating in May

Then going off to Florida– For graduate School, who’s going to pay

You and wife Chris can relax now – Maybe you could join a choir

Someone who loves to sing – As much as you do, we all admire!!

You are super nice and outgoing – Ready to lend a helping hand

You’ll do anything for anyone – Nothing in return do you demand

Jed, you’re careful with the money – Which is the secret to your success

A CFO has to be judicious – With the company’s money no less!!

But when it comes to helping those in need – Your generosity is well known

Which is one of the many reasons – So much admiration is shown

Working for you these past ten years – For me has been such a delight

I thank you for being such a good boss – And always doing what was right!!

Happy Retirement Paul!!

For 29 years – You’ve fought the good fight

But you’ve thrown in the towel – I guess the time was right

Now you and Jackie – Will have lots more time

To do whatever you feel like – Which I guess, is really no crime!!

Now you can play golf – To all of your hearts desire

Hopefully you’re game will improve – A lower handicap you can acquire

As a Business Manager/Agent – We couldn’t have asked for more

You’ve earned the right to relax – But we’ll miss you that’s for sure!!

We wish you good luck – And our best wishes in the ahead

Sit back and enjoy your football – But we don’t want to be mislead

When the Bulldogs wipe out Bama – Here’s a warning just for you

Don’t call in through the switchboard – You’ll get dog bites through and through!!

Happy Retirement Paul

Happy Retirement!!

It’s finally happened – Ringwald is on his way out

Some of them will miss you – Others won’t, no doubt

You do have quite a record – And adored by quite a few

Some wanted a special gift – A famous pillow just for you!!

You even have a name sake – A famous cop among the best

When it came to being resourceful – He never failed the test

But he did demand rewards – Or he just wouldn’t do the job

A narcotics dog named “Ringer” – On his pillow he would throb!!

You were number two at the Academy – Giving many cops their start

Helping them find their feminine side – So true justice they could impart

Maybe it’s your background – Loving Shakespeare and the Civil War

Making you the cop you were – Respected, but sometimes hard to adore!!

You went on to Narcotics – Where you met the canine wonder

As head of the Major Case Unit – You put the bad guys sunder

Some have even suggested – That you were spiking the canine food

To make them each real anxious – To get that reward for a job done good!!

But you were always into growth – Helping everyone in your special way

You once booked me to speak – You used total coercion on that fateful day

“Succeeding in a mans world” – I spoke to a women’s training class

I felt they were quite self confident – To the point of kicking ass!!

The department sent you to Harvard – And you proved you were pretty smart

To the point of being scary – Not some worthless old fart

I don’t want to shock you – For it’s known you’re quite polite

But this is my last shot – And I want to do it right!!

You have an adoring wife – You and Karin were made to match

I might add you were lucky – For she was the perfect catch

You even adopted her cats – We figure it was part of the deal

There might have been some teasing – By whom I won’t reveal!!

But now you’re on your way – Diet coke still in your hand

A man who loves his steak – And truly knew how to command

You left your mark in the department – Fond memories I’m sure they carry

One of the last of a dying breed – Which will probably make you legendary!!

Now that we’ve had our fun – Carl, we each want you to know

We’ve enjoyed watching your career – Because you always acted like a pro

We truly wish you well – And know you will be missed

When it comes to respect for leaders – You’ll be at the top of every list!!

Good Luck!!

Your Pals in the Department

Happy Retirement Jim!!

After 43 years on the job – I guess you’ve earned a rest

How will Sears survive without you – Actually you were one of the best

Times like this is fun – To recall the days gone by

Knowing they are gone forever – Actually brings on a sigh!!

I’ve talked to you each day – For seven years on the phone

I know things about you – These are facts totally unknown

Like the time we upgraded your email – At least we gave it a try

I mailed you out the CD – But never received a reply!!

After three months of you stalling – We had an occasion to meet

When I saw your laptop computer – It really was quite the treat

All you had was a floppy drive – Which was why you didn’t upgrade

It took a total of eight months – Before the switch was made!!

Or when I thought I trained you – To save a file, cut and paste

Only to find out later – My time had been just a waste

You’d wait until three o’clock – When your daughter got home from school

She did all your computer work – Jim, don’t you think that was cruel!!

Whenever I can’t find you – And your wife says you’re gone

You’re mailing in Publishers Clearing House – Hoping your name will be drawn

When you want to find me – You just call the person in the cube next door

Asking if they’ve seen “Fat Head” – Jim that truly is poor!!

Now you can pursue your passion – Killing Bambi in the deep, deep woods

And fishing in Costa Rica– Where the rum and coke is good

Seriously, we wish you good luck – And hope you and Lucille have fun

We’ll look for your name in the paper – To see if the Sweepstakes you have won!!

Happy Retirement

Happy Birthday and Retirement Lenny!!

You deserve to retire – For you’ve been our doctor and friend

Facing the future without you – We’ll each have to contend

For many of us here – You’ve changed our outlook on life

The remodeling you’ve done – Has helped to lessen the strife!!

With your beautiful wife, Susan – And your modest 7500 foot home

Will you now become a painter – Or travel the world and roam

You’re known for your stories – Which some of the Dr’s here can attest

You’ve kept them awake during surgery – Where you were at your best!!

Not eating anything with wings or feet – Might be the secret to your youth

Or your wonderful sense of humor – Were we to know the truth

But one thing is for certain – You’ll leave your mark whatever you do

We love you and wish you the best – On this your retirement debut!!

Happy Retirement and
Birthday!

Love

Happy Retirement Carrie!!

It’s a bittersweet moment – But of it we’ll make the most

To my boss and friend Carrie – I offer up this toast

Since I’m not into hugs – I thought it would be easier this way

Even a Grinch with an oversized heart – Still has things to say!!

We’ve had great times with a set back or two – One was me going off to war

Your store is just fabulous – With two, 12 foot Georges and much, much more

Honoring peoples birthdays – Was an important event for me

You were amazed how I did it – As they would cut their cake in glee!!

Decorating the Parade of Homes – And our store for the Christmas season

Gave all of us so much joy – And our lives had purpose and reason

You loved going down to Mexico – On the many buying trips galore

And then off to Las Vegas– To have fun and buy even more!!

Karry, Lisa and Tonya – With Kori, Eddie, Pat and Gus

And all the past and present employees – As a group were quite ingenious

Carrie’s Iron Furnishings was unique – Can’t forget your husband, Bob

No matter how big or small – By gosh, we truly did the job!!

Even the late Owen the Lizard – Who belong to Parker, tried to do his part

And may he rest in peace – I mean this, from the bottom of my heart

You always cared about your employees – And this is not just a cliché

You cared for and nurtured us – And we appreciated you every day!!

Bob, Madison and Parker – Will now have more time with you

Since you’re going into retirement – But you’ve earned it through and through

We all thank you and bless you – For taking us along on this wonderful ride

You were a great boss and wonderful friend – We say this with pride!!

Happy Retirement Bob!!

Thirty years as a firefighter – Is a record to behold

Although you’ll miss the guys – You know it’s time, I’m told

Bob, you’ve had your fun – Sometimes laughing to survive

But when the bell goes off – God decides who’s dead or alive!!

The late night calls are over – No adrenalin rush for you

You made sure you were fit – Taking pride in what you do

Saving a life as an EMT – Feeling bad when a life was lost

You and your buddies giving all – No matter what the cost!!

A little known fact about you – You’re an artist with talent galore

You’ve won awards with your work – Sounds like a great encore

Doing pen and ink drawings – As well as mixed media and pastels

Now with more time to pursue – Who knows how you’ll excel!!

You have a love of nature – Gardening and the great outdoors

It sounds like you’ll be busy – But having fun, that’s for sure

No matter how frantic your schedule – One thing supercedes the art

Spending time with the grandkids – Both are close to your heart!!

With three grown sons – And two daughter in laws you love

Your wonderful wife, Dottie – You’ve truly been blessed from above

So as you say good-bye – To those friends you hold dear

Remember Wollaston’s Engine #4 – Respect you for a great career!!

Happy Retirement
Bob!!
