Congratulations Katherine!!

Weddings should be happy – No exception will this one be

They’re getting married in a barn – I must say, with a little glee

Katherine is my cousin – And she’s always been fun

Although she’s quiet natured – There’s a wild streak that would stun!!

Now here’s a little excitement – Something you all should know

Katherine, Kenny and Angela – Got PHD’s a short time ago

Katherine and Kenny in Pharmacy – And Angela is an M.D.

This is a family of scholars – As you can plainly see!!

Tomorrow at the Colonial Chapel – Katherine and Kenny will be wed

The reception is in the barn – Where you’ll receive a very nice spread

Just so you understand – I was kidding about the barn

It’s really a very nice place – But it helped me with this yarn!!

Katherine, I want you to know – Tomorrow, everything will be fine

Enjoy this wonderful day – Even the barn where we’ll all dine

And especially inKauai– Where you and Kenny will start anew

I wish you both a wonderful life – And I bless you both, through and through!!

Congratulations Cassie and Mark!!

I’m the Maid of Honor – So a toast is expected of me

But since I also acted as Cupid – I do so totally with glee

But first some information – Fun facts I’d like to share

I’m been friends with Cassie – Since 7th grade, we were a pair!!

I was friends with Mark’s brother, Mike – Mark was two years behind

Cassie told me she liked Mark – But like most guys, he was blind

He asked me if she liked him – I told him to give her a kiss

If she didn’t hit him – She’d kiss back in heavenly bliss!!

After that first kiss – They’ve been a pair ever since

Although he’s an Auto Mechanic – He’s also Cassie’s Prince

Mark loves motorcycles, fishing and camping – And thankfully, Cassie does too

She works at Cingular Wireless – When friends have cell problems, she knows what to do!!

They are both very humble – And loyal people to the core

But give Cassie a couple of drinks – Her voice raises to a low roar

Cassie likes to go out for a good time – Whereas Mark enjoys just kicking back

Working on his motorcycle – Or putting his car up on the rack!!

Now it’s time to toast – This new husband and wife

May your love continue to grow – As you start your new life

May all your dreams come true – May life continue to be fun

May your journey be long fruitful – In the race of life that you run!!

“Val’s Birthday Toast”

Let’s please take this moment to cherish a gal.

A precious sweet lady we all love named “Val”

Four decades of living, but you wouldn’t have guessed.

She looks “29” and by her we are blessed.

As quite a young girl, she grew up abroad.

Her family loves Jesus, for that we applaud.

From Venezuela to Rockford, Val gets around.

She’s a practical jokester, a bi-continent clown!

A homeschoolin’ mama, a devoted wife,

All people are cared for in Val Bubnack’s life.

From her “Roarin’ 20’s” to a fated blind date,

That “cherry stem thing” won over her mate.

Known to Randy as “Ball”, Val made him a Daddy.

Then came to the world, Kali, Caleb, Sam,……. Maddi.

Fancied a painter by her poor kitchen walls.

Val’s oft’ times a widow when basketball calls.

Enchanted by snowmen, and Lonestar for dinner,

If she counts you her friend, you know you’re a winner.

But don’t try to win, versus Val any day.

Her competitive nature will come out to play.

From walks in the morning to church acted dramas,

Val’s witty and honest, and one loyal mama!

So to properly honor the day of Val’s birth.

Let’s lift up our glasses and show what’s she’s worth.

A  “thank you” dear friend, for all that you do.

And a thanks to our Lord for making you “you”.

Merry Christmas 2005!!

Another fast year – And we’re heading into 2006

Fortunate for you – I won’t bore you with politics

March we vacationed inHawaii– With brother Neal and his wife

We played a lot of Gin Rummy – And enjoyed the good life!!

Now we’re into healthy eating – Trying to keep that weight off

We still go to the club to work out – Fortunately, neither of us play golf

I’m President of the Fridley Lions – Which is fun and fullfilling

I enjoy the community service – And the joy that it brings!!

We’ve had much excitement – In September, power loss of 4 days

It’s amazing life’s turns – Things happen in mysterious ways

We designed and wrapped flowers – By candle light in the store

We juryrigged the phones – Although the volume was poor!!

At least we went down fighting – Till the power came  back on

We all gave a yell – When the blackout was gone

Now our appreciation has grown – For the little things in life

Little things are appreciated more – Since our 4 days of strife!!

In October we went north – To Breezy Point and the fall leaves

It was a fun get a way – And a welcome reprieve

We stopped to see Paul Anka – At the Casino going home

Paul has so little hair – He hardly needs a comb!!

It was a wonderful show – With all these old teeny boppers

Honey and I were the exception – Not looking like senior citizen shoppers

We promised ourselves – After this wonderful week

We’re getting away more often – It was wonderful and unique!!

We hope you and yours – Have had a wonderful year

Count all your many blessings – Look around they are near

So Merry Merry Christmas – And may next year be great

Remember there are no accidents – It’s the fickle finger of fate!!

Love

Marcia & Bud

Happy Birthday Richard Dale!!

To say you’re a “Free Spirit” – Is an understatement indeed

You hear music unlike others – Richie, you’re a rare, rare breed

You lost your father as a toddler – Your grandparents helped a lot

Then you lost your mother at “16” – Which really left you in a spot!!

With a court appointed guardian – Your love of music had to wait

She insisted you study accounting – Which you really didn’t want on your plate

Luckily while visiting an Uncle – You met Ralph Thommsen one day

He heard you playing the organ at church – About which he had much to say!!

He became your “benefactor” – As well as a very good friend

The College Conservatory of Cincinnati – You finally got to attend

On a 4 year scholarship, no less – Where you achieved quite a lot

Winning the Bertha Baur Award – Richard, you were hot!!

You won first place in 1962 – And second place in 1965

You heard music at church with Grandma – It truly helped you thrive

You spent 15 years at Trinity Episcopal – Where in 1975 you met your “lovely bride”

Richard, she insisted I say this – That’s just my little aside!!

You had an instant family – With Simone 4 years old and Brendon, 2

Then in 1981 you moved toWashingtonD.C. – In 82 came the entire crew

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church – Where a misunderstanding took place

They wanted you to teach instrumental music – Something you didn’t embrace!!

You’ve taught scores of students – And given recitals on your own

In Buffalo, Pittsburgh and New York – Truly a gift from heaven you have shown

Your sister Juanita lives in Lexington – You sent her birthday flowers each year

Always the caring person – Which is why we all hold you so dear!!

You’ve held various church positions – In and about Washington D. C.

For the past several years – With your spirit still quite free

You’ve been at St. Mary Magdalene’s – Choirmaster of the Chancel Choir

You started a children’s instrumental group – You, they love and admire!!

Yes, your bride sings in the choir – As she should, don’t you think

Her mother spent a lot of money – For her voice lessons, wink, wink

And now the family has expanded – With Simone’s new groom, Jim

Oh yes, there’s also Michael – We certainly can’t forget him!!

And then we have Cameron – Whom you refer to as the “Apple of your eye”

Being your first grandchild – It was instant love between you and your guy

Thanks to Eric’s thoughtlessness – You had Cameron to help raise and to love

Although it wasn’t always easy – In retrospect, it was a gift from above!!

You’re also Sam and Sydney’s, Papa – Who have both won your heart

Richie, this is just an observation – But, you’ve come a long way from the start

You continue to battle diabetes – And your thumb has a score of pricks

Where you’ve tested your blood sugar – By now you know every trick!

You still ride your trusty bike – More miles than some drive a car

Your legs are like pistons – But Richard, that’s who you are

You and Joan love the Jersey shore –Point Pleasant now for 25 years

It’s where you both recharge and rest – You’ve made that very clear!!

The Colonel innkeepers – Are more like family after all

This will be your second Thanksgiving – You’ll spend with them this fall

With Brendon and Lori in Kentucky – You don’t see them as much as you’d like

With Cameron living in Maryland – When lonesome, you go ride your bike!!

Joan gave me this passage – You wrote it long ago on a resume

I think it says quite clearly – Exactly what I’ve been trying to say

“Music has been a
dominant force in my life. I am the music conductor. I am a communicator, an originator,
an interpreter, a performer, a person of spiritual integrity.”

So Richard, each of us wish you – Much happiness on your special day

We all love and admire you – So what more is there left to say!!

Happy Birthday
Richard

Love

Marcia, Erwin, Sheron,
Neal, Cheryl & Ed

And of course Tamara

Jeff, You’ll Be Missed!!

From “Singles” at McLean Presbyterian – Close friends we became

With you moving away – My life won’t be the same

Life at the “Big White House” – With our memories galore

Memorial, the 4th and Labor Day – How will our singles group endure!!

As you depart for Charleston– I really want you to know

How much I’ve cherished your friendship – Since we met 10 years ago

Being brothers in Christ – And workout buddies as well

You’ll be missed at Gold’s Gym – But in our hearts you will dwell!!

Good bye Friend!!

A Toast To Our Queen!!

For 75 wonderful years – Our Carnival has thrived

And today marks the start  – Yes, it’s truly arrived

I want to toast the new Queen – A fine choice indeed

And thank the “X” committee – Without you we’d not succeed!!

To the Queen and her family – I truly raise my glass

For hosting this event – And dinner with so much class

We’re looking forward – With anticipation and glee

To 2006 our upcoming year – And the fun Carnival events we’ll see!!

As is our custom – An honored custom we each embrace

We pay homage to our Queen – Standing here filled with grace

So please all join with me – Lift your glasses high

A toast to our wonderful Queen – On her we can all rely!!

A Toast To Our Granddaughter!!

As Grandmother and Grandfather– Of this beautiful bride

We rise to present a toast – And we do so with pride

Rosemarie is our first granddaughter – Of whom we are quite proud

When talking about her – We might even get boisterous and loud!!

Rosemarie and Brandon – Both are attending Drake

In the fridgid state of Iowa – Where a snow storm might last for days without a break

Brandonis majoring in Music – While History is Rosemarie’s love

They will each become teachers – Where we’re sure they’ll both fit like a glove!!

They each play Clarinet – And several other instruments as well

Yes, they are deeply in love – Which is very easy to tell

They’ve been planning this wedding – Since they became engaged last year

They wanted to share this experience – Their love of family is so sincere!!

Rosemarie’s sister is her Maid of Honor – Brandon’s brother is his Best Man

They too are a lovely couple – One never knows what is God’s plan

But now please all join with us – As we toast this new man and wife

We wish you happiness and success – As you walk hand in hand down the road of life!!

Happy 75th, Sidney!!

Seventy-five years old – And what more can be said

What more, just listen – As you’ve traveled you’ve left a tread

To say you’re charitable – Is an understatement indeed

Or that you repeat yourself – For that there’s no need!!

You live to give advice – Whether solicited or not

On any topic or subject – An opinion you’ve got

You played Sax in High School – And graduated Harvard Law

When you want to stress a point – You get this protruding jaw!!

You were bald by age 26 – But that didn’t slow you down

You’ve made a lot of money – Yes, you’re well known in town

You’re powerful and successful – With a kind hearted streak

With a mind that is brilliant – But also a true “control freak”!!

You love the Packers and the Bucs – As well as the finest of wine

You have 5 kids and 9 grandkids – That cause your eyes to shine

You adore your wife Dorothy – And collecting modern art

But you believe in giving back – Charity has a special place in your heart!!

So on this 75th birthday – It was important that you knew

That you’re loved and respected – By more than just a few

And to show we’re sincere – On this, your special day

Go ahead, jut that jaw – We want to hear what you have to say!!

Happy Birthday!!

Love
